The Datalogic Gryphon GFx4500 scan modules (Gryphon 4500 Fixed Series) bring the reading performance of Datalogic's Gryphon 4500 handheld scanners to kiosks, smart lockers, ticket gates and other machines. A 1 MP sensor with wide-angle optics reads any 1D and 2D barcode – including codes on mobile phone screens – almost from contact, and 60 frames per second ensure first-pass reading of moving codes. Datalogic's ‘Green Spot’, a high-visibility top-front LED and a loud beeper give clear good-read feedback, and the 5-year factory warranty shows how long they are built to last. This version, GFE4590-RED, is the housing-less “naked” scan engine (GFE) with red illumination, USB and RS-232 on a 12-pin connector and a programmable digital input/output – designed to be built fully into your own enclosure. No cable is included.

Not sure which version you need? For a PC or kiosk computer with USB, choose the GFS4520 – the kit GFS4520-BKK1-RED already includes the micro-USB cable. For serial devices, the GFS4550-BKK2-RED has a 2 m RS-232 cable built in, while the GFS4590-BK-RED works with USB or RS-232 depending on the Datalogic cable you plug in. The housing-less GFE4590-RED is meant for OEM designs where the engine is built fully into your own enclosure. Red illumination models also read Digimarc digital watermarks; the white-illumination GFS4520-BK-WHT gives a neutral, warm white light.
